  • Giving a decimal where an exact value is required on AA Paper 1 — non-calculator papers expect answers in terms of $e$, $\pi$, surds, or fractions.
  • Rounding to fewer than three significant figures (or rounding intermediate steps) on calculator papers — the IB's accuracy penalty is applied consistently.
