Frequently asked questions

Are these AP Macroeconomics practice tests free?

Yes. All five free AP Macro exams can be read online and downloaded as print-ready PDFs with no account; the worked answer key for each is emailed when you ask for it on the exam page. Making a new test from your own notes uses the generator, which has a free plan.

Do the questions follow the AP exam format?

Yes: multiple-choice questions with five options, as in Section I, and free-response questions that ask you to draw correctly labeled graphs, calculate, and explain, as in Section II. The answer keys show the graph labels and the reasoning that earn points, not just the letter.

Which units have the most questions?

Units 2 and 3 (economic indicators, and national income and price determination), which also carry the most weight on the exam and have dedicated unit practice tests here. Units 4 and 5 are covered by the full-length and multiple-choice exams; unit 6 has the fewest.

Can I get a test on one unit only?

Yes. Open the generator with the AP Macroeconomics style, tick the unit in "Pick your exam" and the questions are written from that unit's outline; or upload your class notes and slides for it. The unit 2 and unit 3 free tests are ready-made examples.
