IB Maths AA practice exams by topic

IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches practice questions sorted by the five syllabus topics: number and algebra, functions, geometry and trigonometry, statistics and probability, and calculus. Each topic page has free sample questions with markscheme-style solutions where our free AA SL Paper 1 covers it (no calculator, exact values), a key-terms list with every formula typeset, and a door to make a Paper 1 or Paper 2-style test on that topic from your own notes. The exam PDF needs no signup; the answer key is emailed on request.

Frequently asked questions

Is the free IB Maths AA exam Paper 1 or Paper 2?

Paper 1: no calculator, a Section A of short questions and a Section B extended question, with every answer an exact value (fractions, surds, multiples of pi). To practise Paper 2, generate a paper with the AA style and say "calculator allowed" in the instructions so the questions use technology.

Is this SL or HL?

The free exam is SL. The syllabus topics are the same at both levels; HL adds content such as complex numbers, proof by induction, vectors and further calculus, marked HL in the key-terms lists. Upload HL notes or say HL in the instructions to generate HL-level questions.

What about Applications and Interpretation?

AI has its own tree at IB Maths AI, with its own free exam (technology permitted, Voronoi diagrams, chi-squared tests). The two routes share topic names but not content, so keep to the route you sit.

How are the sample questions marked?

In IB style: method marks for correct working such as writing the equation you solve, accuracy marks for the exact final answer, and reasoning marks where a justification is required. The solutions show the working an examiner credits, not just the answer.
